Appointments must be cancelled without 24 hours notice, may be charged a fee of $75 for follow up visits or $100 for extended complete physicals. Patients arriving more than 15 minutes beyond their appointment time, will be rescheduled and be charged a no show fee, unless a courtesy call is received on the date of service and is acceptable to the doctor.
Every attempt to answer your call by a live person will be made. In the event that the staff is attending other patients, calls will be routed to our automated voicemail attendant. Please note that the appointment line and the doctor's assistant lines have different voicemail boxes. Please follow the voice prompts on the phone system. Please be sure to leave a short message, with your name and phone number and your call will be returned within the business day.
If you have a life threatening emergency or a problem you perceive to be urgent, please rather hang up, call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency facility, as there is no guarantee that we will get your message in the appropriate time frame. After hours, each physician takes call for his own patients, and on weekends the call is shared by other doctors in the physician's call panel. After hours calls are routed to our answering service, who will page the doctor on call 24/7, 365 days a year.
Payment for services is expected at the time of service. In the event you have medical insurance, we will bill your insurance as a courtesy to you, leaving you responsible for your designated co-payment at the time of service. We accept cash, check or credit card (except American Express).

Concierge services are $1800 annually, payable in advance. Payment plan options are available, and may be arranged at the time of membership activation.
Balboa Medical Group currently accepts most insurance plans including: Medicare, Medicare/Medi-Cal, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health Net, Cigna, Aetna, United HealthCare, PacifiCare and Secure Horizons. We also accept a number of HMO health plans, affiliated with Sharp Community Medical Group. If you have HMO insurance, please check you card, to see that either Dr. Levinson or Dr. Laliotis is designated as you Primary Care Physician. If not, please call your insurance carrier to change this prior to your appointment, otherwise you visit will not be covered under your insurance. We currently are not accepting any new patients under the Medi-Cal or managed care Medi-Cal program.

Office visits by appointment. Walk-in visits will be seen in emergencies if the schedule allows, or patients will be referred to the nearest Urgent Care or hospital ER.
Concierge hours are two hours per day, four days a week.
